This is a brilliant idea.
This kind of thing has been done in most major cities in many countries for very many years but I suppose the most widely known are the New York neighbourhood gardens of the last twenty years.
I even think Groundforce did one there a few years ago.
The secret is getting the target community behind you. I can't think of a better way to get people of every background, creed and colour working together.
A lot of people say bring back national service. I say make everyone rent an allotment and make the Government legally obliged to supply every family with a plot.
