1. I signed up for the old Landshare site. How do I log in to this site?
First, retrieve your password. You'll get an email containing your password. Then you'll be able to login at the login screen.
2. How do I get involved in Landsharing?
All you need to do is post a listing. Other users will get in touch with you through this website. It's easy! You can also browse listings and contact the ones that look suitable to you.
3. I have replied to a listing. What happens now?
When you reply to a listing you will get an immediate on screen message saying "Thanks. Your response was sent to (user)." Your message gets sent to that user's email inbox and it's just a matter of waiting for them to read your message and decide to get in touch. To do so, they will email you back to your external email address.
4. I want to change my username or password. How do I do it?
Login to the site. Then click on the "My profile" link at the top of the page. Then click on the "Edit your username/password" link.
5. How do I see my own listing?
Login to the site. Then click on the "My profile" link at the top of the page. You'll see your listing under the heading "Your listings". If you are concerned that you're listing is not showing to other users, make sure that you have clicked on the option to Publish it.

7. What do I do once I have made a 'match'?
If you no longer want people to respond to your listing because you have already found your 'match', Login to the site. Then click on the "My profile" link at the top of the page, find the relevant listing under "Your listings" and select to "Make inactive"
8. How do I delete my listing?
If you have found a match, changed your mind about landsharing, or for any reason want to take your listing off the website so that other users can no longer see it, we suggest you go to "My profile" find the relevant listing under "Your listings" and select to "Make inactive". This means we can still keep a confidential record of your listing for our statistics. However, if you want all records of your listing deleted, please send an email to landshare@channel4.com
9. What's the best browser and computer to use for viewing this site?
Landshare has been tested for compatibility on the browsers and computers below:
PCs: Internet Explorer 6, Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3, Safari public beta 4, Mozilla Firefox 2, Mozilla Firefox 3 and Opera 9
Macs: Safari 3 and Mozilla Firefox 3
JavaScript needs to be enabled so that you receive all the correct messages, such as confirmation that your username and password have been updated and to view the Flash videos. Here are some step-by-step instructions if you need to enable JavaScript.
10. I can’t log in. What can I do?
You need to make sure you have verified your account. If you have not received an email asking you to do this, you might find it in your junk mail folder. Please check your junk mail/ spam settings.

11. How can I change my email address?
Send an email with your old and new email addresses to landshare@channel4.com
12. What does the supporters statistic on the homepage mean?
This figure represents the number of people who have registered with the Landshare initiative. Not all of these people have posted a listing yet as this website hasn’t been live for very long. But more and more of these people are getting involved, as well as new people, daily. Do check the site regularly for new listings near you.
13. I can't see my listing on the map. What can I do?
Make sure you have agreed for your listing to be shown on the map. To check this, after you have logged in, go to "My profile". You will see your listing there and in the bottom left hand corner is the option to "Edit". Click on that and you will be taken into the details of your listing. The last option before the Submit button is a box you can tick to say "Don't show this listing on the Landshare map". Make sure that box is not ticked. Then press "Submit".
