I'm in Colchester, Essex and I am looking for some freshly cut logs around 8-12" in diameter and 18-24" long. I've got three types of mushrooms that I want to grow and haven't yet been able to source logs yet. Is anyone able to help? Thanks.

In the raised bed we are growing we have tomamto plants thatappear to be producing tomatoes. However the plants have spread somewhat and I am not sure if I shoud be pruning & I wondered if anyone could advise.

i'm in my second year of growing my own and am having a go at growing romanesco cauli, the plants are very big but no sign of the cauli as yet, do i just wait or have i not done something

i planted flyaway carrots sometime ago now, but over the past few days i have noticed they have purple heads. I now know that this is not carrots can anyone help identfy what this is, the leaf looks very similar to flat leaf parsley.

Three weeks ago i sowed some seeds in greenhouse and most have started to grow except my toms and sweet peppers. Cauli, raddish, cabbage, carrots, spring onions all doing well and runners have been planted out but no toms or peppers. Why!!!

There are five growers now listed in Stratford-upon-Avon but no land owners have signed up.

Any ideas for getting Stratford based land owners to register?

1) Is a 2ft tall (and growing) lettuce normal? The rest are OK, but this is like a runaway romaine!

Planted onions & shallots last Oct. Both have just been lifted: pleased with onions; lots of gd sized bulbs. Shallots produced lots of bulbs (8 to 13 per original bulb) but are small. The plots were treated exactly the same. What did I do wrong?

Whenever I grow carrots, they are always small. It doesn't matter what type of carrot I grow. Is there any way I can stop this happening?

My purple sprouting broccoli (sown spring 2008 and overwintered) didn't produce any spears or turn purple. Instead I've got lots of green leaves this year, which taste nice but weren't what I anticipated. Any ideas what caused this?

As a first time potato grower I expect to start harvesting in July. After digging in some manure is there an obvious crop to plant soon after in the same patch? Isn't it too late for any beans?

Gooseberries. I had a perfectly healthy bush planted on my allotment, it looked great and had fruit. I came back the next day all my fruit had disappeared! I am wondering if birds have eaten them, although my dad says bird do not eat them. Any ideas?

There is potentially a great field for turning into allotments very close to where I live. I know many who would be interested in taking a plot and helping realise the project. I think the land is council owned - can anyone help me out how I start the process of establishing whether it's council land and then turning it into an allotment??

Votes needed! I have 'acquired' some land down in a communal garden area, basically it used to be someones garden but its overgrown and full of weeds! Like a jungle! I decided to ask about and no one apposed to me putting a few pots of veg there....

I have two plants in a pot in my pop up greenhouse and they are starting to get very bushy on top and are causing each other to lean, would it be ok to trim the leaves off so they behave? They have just started to flower so i dont want to upset them!
