  • Hi,
If you have the urge, have a whiz on the compost. It really is amazing and an old gardener once told me that it can keep the pests away!
You can buy activators but Comfrey and Nettles (both rotted down in water) will not only make great liquid feeds, but will make great activators.

Just pick the nettles (or Comfrey) put them in a container well away from the house because they stink to high heaven and after the smell has begun to go, strain of the liquid into WELL Labelled, secure container and dilute to the colour of straw or weak tea every time you feed. Water on plants as you would any liquid fertiliser or spray on the leaves as a liquid, fast acting feed.

    Best,

    George

  • You can use Green compost, such as beans - these are excellent for Nitrogen.
