Hello
Your listing wasn't published so I have published it for you now. You can always go to your profile and check the status of your listing there.

Put up a listing as a landowner in order to give people the details of your land and the ability to get in touch with you. For information on some of the practical aspects, check out the Blog for posts talking about tree planting - these also contain links to more information.
A Helper can be a variety of things - someone who is offering advice on growing, help with IT skills, or perhaps you dont have the time to commit yourself to your own full time plot so just want to volunteer to help out occasionally on someone else's? Feel free to use the Helper role in whatever context suits you and Landshare.
To get involved, post a listing letting everyone know what you are looking for or offering, search other people's listings and get in touch with anyone who shares a mutual interest.
Best
Jane
In response to what is a helper and how do you go about getting envolved thanx
Hi Simonji
Apologies for the problems you have had - please email further details to landshare@channel4.com so that we can help ensure your correct listing is reinstated.

Hi DAVE61
You could download the leaflets and send to the local press - in particular, the leaflet to print and fold has more detailed information about Landshare on it. You can find these leaflets in the Blog.
Thanks.
In response to is there a draft letter available that i could download and send to the local press to promote this site many thanks
Hi helpers939
There is no inbox as such on Landshare but instead if anyone replies to your listing, their message is automatically sent to your external email inbox.
If you have any tech issues, please email the team at landshare@channel4.com

In response to Every time I try to update my profile I get an error message "Something went wrong. Please try again" Any suggestions
Hi Shane
If you search for your listing either by postcode or keyword search, you will see it.
For example, you can see your listing on the map at:
http://landshare.channel4.com/listings/map?q=MK40+3JG&zoom=15
And in the text listings at:
http://landshare.channel4.com/listings/search/keyword?t=Zero+Carbon+Castle&commit=Keyword+search
What wasn't happening is that your listing wasn't showing in the Browse listings by area as it didn't have a county allocated to it. You might have seen our email about this issue recently. I have now fixed this for you.
Best
Jane
Hi sissior hands
Make sure you post a listing as a landowner - that is the best way to let people know where you are and what you're offering and then they can get in touch with you.
Also, have a look in the listings for growers in your area. You could send them a message by replying to their listings offering them use of your space.
Good luck!
In response to i have spare land for growers to grow veg on what should i do next
Hi growers13936
Sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by 'number tab'? Do feel free to email more details to our tech team at landshare@channel4.com

In response to I've signed in but there is no reference to my number tab for my profile to click on.
Hi jaycam
Could you kindly send an email to landshare@channel4.com with the details of what browser and computer you are using?
Thanks
Hi BillyJo

Hi misty68
There was a bug in your listing which has now been fixed. Apologies. The bug relates to an issue with the Google API that we are using. Information will be given to everyone soon on how to fix this problem in case anyone else is experiencing similar issues.

Jane
Hi Leveller
When you are logged in at the top right hand corner of the screen it should say "Hi Leveller (log out)" and a button to "My profile."
If you have any tech problems, do email the details to landshare@channel4.com
Hi Percy Grower
There are some landowners out there who are happy to have kids involved. If you haven't been able to find an owner who is suitable for you, do keep checking the site as new people are joining every day.
This should now be working fine. If you have any further tech problems, please do send an email to landshare@channel4.com
thanks
Hi horse10
This really is a community question!
Whilst Landshare's primary aim is to get people growing fruit and veg and so enable access to land for that use, I think it's up to the Landshare community as to how the site is used.
Good to see you're suggesting offering manure. Perhaps you should post a listing and see what response you get? What does everyone else think?
Hi davetapley
Thanks for pointing this out - there seems to be a bug in the site. I will get our tech team on to this straight away.
Hi Jo
If growers13533 respond to you, their message will be delivered to the inbox of your external email. It is up to each user to decide who they correspond with.
Hi theadds
If you click on their pin, once it is either a G, L or H, you will get a bubble that tells you the first line of their listing. Click on that and you will be taken to their text listing which will have the option to "Respond to this listing" - that is the way to make contact.
Another way to get to their text listing and the button to respond to it, is at the top right hand corner of the map are the options for Map View or List View. If you click on List View, you get taken to the text listings that correspond to the area(s) that you were looking at on your most recent map view.
In response to How do I contact a landowner who is on the map?
Hi Andy125
Check out the Legal Lowdown and Sample Agreements - which include a Notice to Terminate.
But other people in the community might also have some other suggestions/ alternatives so it's a good place to ask!
Hi Peter
All messages to you will be sent to your main email inbox.
Congratulations!
To take off your listing, go to "My profile" and either deactivate or delete it.
To post a blog, you can either email one to landshare@channel4.com along the lines of the one in "Growing to a Tee" or else send an email to that same address with a link to your blog on an external site, such as using the River Cottage Community blog tools.
Hello
I will be posting an update about the Everton space soon!
Hi kizz1e
You might want to post your request as a listing, being a grower looking for land. This way people who are local to you might find you more easily and increase your chances of success.
In response to anyone in tenby area wales how has any land they want to share for willing person to grow veg and keep chickens
Hi Percy Grower
Sorry but I don't quite understand your suggestion. Why don't you send me an email to info@landshare.net and we can talk through this in more detail.
Much thanks
Hello
If someone contacts you in response to your listing, even though that message will be delivered to the inbox of your external email address, that user will not have seen your private email address. It is up to you to decide if you wish to respond but yes, if you do reply, from that point on your email address will be revealed.
First contact is effectively through the site. After then, contact is externally via your email accounts.
Hello
If you receive a message from another user in relation to your posting, it is intended that you do then communicate via your external email rather than directly through the site. Landshare is a tool for introduction and then you can independently make your plans from there.
Hi Miri
Downloadable posters and stickers to be available soon!
These kinds of considerations can be individually agreed between you and the grower(s) rather than there being any set rules. You could also consider using a water butt.
Hi Shane
There is now an RSS feed available.
In response to Are you going to put an RSS feed on your blog?
Hi Julie
Have a read of the Legal Lowdown - you won't risk your legal ownership if you have an appropriate legal agreement in place.
Hi Kelvin
Any text on any page that is light blue in colour is a link you can click on which will take you to other sections of the website (not just the map!)
Common problems are addressed in our FAQ section as well - including recommended browsers for viewing the site.
Hi James
Please post a listing as having land to share. You may find you're more successful in finding people that way.
Hi Kev
Please post a listing as a Grower - you might be more successful in finding a match that way.
Given we have quite a number of listings, with more added daily, the map needs to use 'cluster' pins rather than showing every single listing on the map at every level. Otherwise, the map would risk crashing. So you will need to zoom in to see individual listings or click on the cluster headings to go in closer.
Congratulations on your match - our first reported one for Wales!
If anyone feels that another user might be inaccurately describing what they are looking for in their listing, or is not participating in the spirit of landshare, do send an email to info@landshare.net or follow the onsite prompts to report misuse.
thanks
how did you get on?
Hello
It appears that there might be an issue with your email having been duplicated in the system. I will email you to fix this ASAP.
Do also always feel free to email any problems in to info@landshare.net
Thanks
There will be updates to the site implemented within the week which may help make it easier for you to find your match.
More information coming soon!
You need to make sure you are typing your post code using capitals and using a space between the characters - like BN1 4XY
Additionally, the postcode mechanism is currently being updated and there will be improvements within the week to make it easier to use and give you the best results.
In response to the site wont take my post coad
Hello
The site operates by using your external email account for incoming messages and so it is not possible to have data from your external inbox captured and saved on the site.
If you wish to change your email address to one that is not tied to your work and you can access out of hours, send an email request to info@landshare.net
Hello
Technical updates should go live within the next week that will address these problems.
Thanks for your patience.
Hi Labster73
You don't get an email saying your message has been forwarded, it's just an onscreen message.
If you have any technical problems, send an email to info@landshare.net
Please note: this question has been posted by a Landshare user. Beyond that, there is no connection between helenanderson44 and Landshare, and this proposed product is not officially endorsed by this site. Perhaps this question might generate some interesting discussion, but there is no agreement to sell anything.
Hello
Just post a listing as a Grower looking for space to grow. You can then either wait for landowners in your area to contact you or you can also search through Landowner listings and contact the ones that look suitable for you.
In response to How do I register for an allotment or growing space in my area?
additional search tools to find listings near you are planned to be added within the next week.
Hello
Some users are experiencing a difficulty in seeing their own listings on the site - this is currently being addressed by our technical team.
Your listing does actually appear automatically on the site and will be viewable by other users.
Hello
There will be improved postcode/ location accuracy on the site within the next fortnight.
Thanks for your patience whilst these initial technical bugs are addressed.
When land is taken, the owner should either delete or make their listing inactive.
Hello
When you reply to a listing, you should get a message almost instantly that says "Thanks. Your response was sent to (user's name)." That is confirmation that your message was delivered.
It sounds like you might need to give the other user more time to respond to you.
Hello
There will be extra places to add feedback about matches coming soon. In the meantime, please feel free to post comments on the "The matches have started!" Blog which can be found at:
http://landshare.channel4.com/blog/49
You can also delete or make a listing in active by going into your "My profile" section and clicking on those options at the footer of your listing.
hello
we have been contacting everyone who initially registered interest in stages. it may take some time before everyone signs up to the site as part of this launch process. so please do check the website regularly for updated listings.
hello
thanks for the suggestions. i will follow this up with our tech team.
In response to I can't ask my question in less than 200 Characters....GRRRR!
Hi Ena
Please post a listing as a Helper and that might make it easier for people in your area who need some advice to find you.
Thanks
Hello
We are in the process of updating and improving this functionality. Keep a look out for updates in our FAQ section.
Thanks for your patience.
Good suggestion. I will follow this up with our tech team as to if we can include this information in what gets recorded in your "My profile" section.
Check out our Legal Lowdown and Sample Agreements for some guidelines.
But what you agree with the Grower is really up to you. If access to water mains is an issue, you can also consider putting in a water butt.
Check out our Code of Conduct, Legal Lowdown and Sample Agreements for some relevant guidelines.
At the end of the day, only you can judge whether you feel you can trust someone. But you might consider asking for personal references, asking for a CRB check, getting someone you trust to also meet them, as other ways to help you decide.
We are working to add this function to be able to change your email address soon.
Look out for an update/ instructions in our FAQ section soon.
In response to Errrr, how do I change the e:mail address I use for Landshare?
Hello
Your listing will be immediately viewable by other users. Some users are experiencing difficulties in seeing their own listings and our tech team is currently looking into this. An update will be posted on the FAQ soon.
We have improved the accuracy of the "Listings near you" section by giving you the option to enter your postcode. This should bring up closer results.
If you don't enter that info, the system will bring you results based on your IP address which is not always accurate. So you are recommended to use the postcode function.
We are also working further on this function and it will continue to improve over the coming weeks.
Hello
We are still working on this functionality and will be posting updates soon.
It should be visible immediately. Some users have experienced difficulties in seeing their own listings and we will be updating information on this in the FAQ section soon.
In response to I have submitted a listing but can't see it on the site. How long does it take to be available?
Hello
You can contact Helpers3274 or any other user if they have posted a listing.
We are unable to give you users' personal data, sorry.
It is advisable to draw up a contract and at the footer of the website there are links to a "legal lowdown", pro forma template agreements and a notice to terminate.
Hello
You can either post a listing and wait for people to contact you, else look through other people's listings and contact them, or both.
Use the post code search tool to hone your search to people near you. And also click on which group of listings you want to see - i.e. if you're looking for land, search for landowner listings in our postcode area.
The interactive map is coming soon. We are currently building it, so look out for updates on the website soon.
Hello
Our tech team is working on this and we will be posting info soon in our FAQ section.
Hello
We will be adding info on this in the FAq section soon.
In response to I need to change my email address. How do I do this?

In response to I am in Camden but the listing says Paddington
You need to make sure you are properly logged in. If you are still having problems, it may be due to the browser you are using. Please email the details to landshare@channel4.com and our tech team can look into this for you.
Thanks for the suggestion and everyone's enthusiasm. This is on our list of plans to come...
Hello
Please email all suggestions and reports of problems to us at landshare@channel4.com
This is an 'organic' launch where we will be adding extra functionality over the coming weeks.
Hello
We are still getting UK Landshare up and running and will let you know of international versions in due course.
More information will be coming to the site soon - the National Trust spaces that they have pledged are not yet available but we will make an announcement in the News section of our Blog once they are.
If you respond to a listing, your message is automatically sent to the email account of the person who posted the listing. It is not posted publicly on the site. They can then get back to you also by email.
In the message that you received, it will contain the email address of the person who has contacted you. To reply, just send them an email back direct to their email address.
The National Trust allotments will be listed on this website. The 1,000 spaces that the National Trust have pledged will gradually become available between now and 2012. We will post an update in the news section of the Blog when they start to become available, which we hope will be very soon.
In response to Are the National Trust allotments still listed on this site or elsewhere
If you respond to a listing, your message is automatically sent to the other person's email account. They are then given the option to email you back and again, any messages will go to your external email account.
In response to I've sent a response to a landowner but had no reply. Is my question just listed on here or do they get notification by email?
There are instructions in our FAQ section but if you have any problems, email us at landshare@channel4.com
In response to I want to change my passwords and login name .......can you? ....if you can ....how did you do it??
Hello
We at currently working to improve this function and will soon be posting instructions in our FAQ section.
In response to How do I set up my location correctly?
Please see the FAQ section on ow to change your username and/ or password.
If you experience any technical problems, please email us at landshare@channel4.com
In response to how do i change my profile and post a listing, i have tried lots of time but still no luck
Sharing land and produce is ideal as it means everyone can benefit from greater access to homegrown fresh fruit and vegetables.
It is up to every individual what kind of agreement they wish to make - our legal pro forma documents are guides only and certainly you would need a different agreement if land is provided in exchange for cash.
In response to Can people connected on this site pay in cash for land used instead of a proportion of the crops?
if you have continued technical problems, please do email us at landshare@channel4.com
much thanks
In response to I am trying to post a listing of my land, but it just not sending it through. I have tried twice now.
Hello
We are in a launch period and there are still tens of thousands of people who registered interest who have yet logged in to post their listing. Plus, we are getting new users every day. Closer listings to you will be added so please keep checking the website.
In response to My postcode is South East Essex, yet the listings given as local to me are in Norfolk. Why is that?
you can also search by postcode, also right of screen just above the city names
In response to is it possible to browse the listings for one particular area - without ploughing through them all?
hello
this is a technical issue that we are looking into improving asap.
In response to how come my postcode comes up Stockport when I live in Wales
hello
this website has only been live for a couple of days and so many of the people who registered interest (including people in Manchester) have not yet compiled a listing. there will be more listings covering more areas added as more people come to the site.
In response to Is it me or does there not seem to be a landshare for the Manchester area? Is this just because no one else is interested?
This function is currently being updated. There are instructions in the FAQ but you may need to wait 24 hours to be able to follow through the steps.
In response to How do i change my username and password?
